Merry Freakmas!

Jimmy's aunt does a gingerbread house tradition each year. We weren't going to participate this year, but felt guilty when we heard that his aunt had bought prizes for everyone and almost no one had turned in a pic of their creation. So, we got Jim's brother Mike to come over and with a little help from wine and peppermint Schnapps we made it through the evening. The mansion became a home for the strange and disfigured toward the end of the process and so it became a very merry "Freak"mas!Jimmy and Michael enjoy some Christmas cheer.

My favorite Christmas freak.

Take special notice of the twisted candy cane trees. Jimmy singed his pretty little fingers making those.

Here's how this tag works:
1. Go to the "My Pictures" folder on your computer
2. Upload the 4th picture from the 4th folder
3. Post the picture
4. Tag 4 othersHow cute is this?! Jimmy and his mom giving a kiss. We have lots of pictures and lots of folders that go waaaaay back! What a nice surprise this one was! Sorry, no gets tagged by me cause I only know Cassie and Krista with a blog. But, if you two want, I want you to look in your first folder and show me your sixth pic. Please sir, can I have another!

Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was really quite enjoyable at the Woodruff house this year. Everyone was in a really good mood. We had some great food and played a couple of games (Christmas Jenga and Uno Attack!). It was a good day, commemorated with this lovely family picture.

Twas' the night before five days off.

I'm up way past my usual bedtime. It's been a whirl-wind two days of SEP's. I feel.....very strange. Some moments I think I might cry, the next moment I think I am incredibly funny and that I might laugh hysterically. I know it's exhaustion, so go to bed.

Beautiful Junk

On my way to work on Halloween I saw this beautiful sunrise. I said to myself, "Hurry, Hurry!"
I had my camera with me to take pics of my little kiddies in their costumes, so I jumped out of the car and ran to the wide open spaces of the elementary soccer field and got these awesome shots (their was another guy there too, we were sunshine buddies). Although, the sunrise was truly breathtaking, surreal and serendipitous, I couldn't help thinking, "This is all possible because of all the junk in their air." So, I enjoyed the beauty and gagged at the irony.

Unexpected St. George Weekend

I went to St. George with some gals I didn't really know this weekend and ended up having a really great time! Thriller was a bit disappointing but I got some fresh air, laughed a lot, and did some short hiking. I was really nervous about going, but I made some new friends and it was really nice to be able to get out of town for a little while.

We found this old car by a quartz mine and we decided to have a little photo shoot.

The quartz mine was amazing! As we approached it from the road you could see all of the stones glistening in the sunshine. It looked like a huge diamond in the desert.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of trash at the mine so we did our part and picked up a bunch. We were really good though, and didn't take any stones with us (Leave No Trace!), even though it was tempting.
I really got to flex my creative photography muscles on this trip and with Amity's help we got this awesome shot of the five of us at a cliff face full of petroglyphs. (from left, Amity, Amanda, pregnant Heidi, Jaycie, and Me).

My should-a-been-lonely-but-wasn't weekend

Hey look! It's a picture of Jimmy and I when he wasn't gone for the weekend!

So I have had four days off for UEA weekend. And Jimmy went deer hunting so this was destined to be a lonely weekend, but..... here is a list of things that I did (or in some cases didn't do):

-Called Ollie "Brandy" (what was I thinking?)
-Went to REI twice
-Saw Oma in her purple velveteen track suit, looking really cute
-Iced my immensely swollen belly button piercing
-Worked out THREE times
-Thought about going to the fabric store
-Read
-Cuddled on my couch with Christy and Cassie
-Doorbell ditched Krista's neighbor (chill-we left them cookies)
-Thought about going to the fabric store
-Didn't hold Brooklyn
-Tickled Phoenix
-Emailed Jennifer
-Read
-Pei-Wei'ed with Nat and Beck
-Hugged my family
-Went for a walk
-Watched two stupid movies, but with good company
-Read
-Tried to find the tranquility in life
-Went to the Gateway with my mom and shuddered as I looked at the make-up faced hoity-toity women

and my favorite part of the weekend will be....
When Jimmy comes home!
Thanks to you all for keeping me company, I wouldn't have made it without you.
