Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving was really quite enjoyable at the Woodruff house this year. Everyone was in a really good mood. We had some great food and played a couple of games (Christmas Jenga and Uno Attack!). It was a good day, commemorated with this lovely family picture.

Twas' the night before five days off.

I'm up way past my usual bedtime. It's been a whirl-wind two days of SEP's. I feel.....very strange. Some moments I think I might cry, the next moment I think I am incredibly funny and that I might laugh hysterically. I know it's exhaustion, so go to bed.

Beautiful Junk

On my way to work on Halloween I saw this beautiful sunrise. I said to myself, "Hurry, Hurry!"
I had my camera with me to take pics of my little kiddies in their costumes, so I jumped out of the car and ran to the wide open spaces of the elementary soccer field and got these awesome shots (their was another guy there too, we were sunshine buddies). Although, the sunrise was truly breathtaking, surreal and serendipitous, I couldn't help thinking, "This is all possible because of all the junk in their air." So, I enjoyed the beauty and gagged at the irony.

Unexpected St. George Weekend

I went to St. George with some gals I didn't really know this weekend and ended up having a really great time! Thriller was a bit disappointing but I got some fresh air, laughed a lot, and did some short hiking. I was really nervous about going, but I made some new friends and it was really nice to be able to get out of town for a little while.

We found this old car by a quartz mine and we decided to have a little photo shoot.

The quartz mine was amazing! As we approached it from the road you could see all of the stones glistening in the sunshine. It looked like a huge diamond in the desert.

Unfortunately, there was a lot of trash at the mine so we did our part and picked up a bunch. We were really good though, and didn't take any stones with us (Leave No Trace!), even though it was tempting.
I really got to flex my creative photography muscles on this trip and with Amity's help we got this awesome shot of the five of us at a cliff face full of petroglyphs. (from left, Amity, Amanda, pregnant Heidi, Jaycie, and Me).
